65 years ago some American states still had racist laws that oppressed black people. Black passengers had to sit in a seperate section of the bus. Rosa Parks refused to move seats when told to by a driver. Her display of courage sent ripples around the US that meant change started to happen. As a result other people started to make a stand. something that continues today.
