Resilience
This assembly looks at -
Begins with a fun game to show that getting the things that you want in life isn't luck.
What makes you happy isn't always financial
How do you achieve big things in life?
Have successful people always been lucky?
By looking at a story of a child their age the children can see that people that achieve massive things in life are really just like rest of us.

Resilience in Primary Schools
Resilience is the capacity to ‘bounce back’ from adversity. It has been shown by psychologists like Carol Dweck that mindsets that foster resilience can help children become more effective learners. It is also a factor in helping children cope better with major life events that can affect their long-term mental health. Resilience does not negate any potential harm, but it can minimise it. The assembly looks at what sort of things make people happy, whether money really plays much part in this and goes on to look at how people achieve the other things in life that make them happy and how they achieve these things even when they are difficult and they might fail along the way. Using a story of a well-known person the children can see the importance of sticking with it while learning from your mistakes. Being positive is a big part of this. The assembly finishes by looking at some famous failures and how children can learn from their mistakes in school.
